Rafael Camara and Nikola Tsolov battle for the title as the season finale nears, while Ugo Ugochukwu celebrates a championship in a high-stakes season for motorsport’s rising stars.
Formula 2
Formula 2 is close to closing out their season, having completed 12 rounds out of their 14, but won’t be back racing until the end of November at the Qatar Grand Prix. They have raced this season in Melbourne, Miami, Montreal, Monaco, Barcelona, Austria, Silverstone, Spa, Budapest, Monza, Madrid, Baku. They will complete their season with the Qatar Grand Prix on November 27-29 and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 4-6.
The championship has been close this season, with Haas’ new driver, Rafael Camara, and Nikola Tsolov just seven points apart going into the final two races. Camara has won three races, all feature races. Tsolov has won six races this season: four feature races and two sprints. While Tsolov has more wins, Camara has finished in the points more consistently, so it could really be anyone's game.
Alexander Dunne rounds out the top three of the championship with 189 points. Gabriele Mini follows in fourth with 189 points. Dino Beganovic is in fifth with 137 points, but Noel Leon is close behind with 133. With so much up in the air it will be exciting to see how it all plays out!
Formula 3
Formula 3 completed its season in Madrid in September, racing at nine different tracks. F3 raced in Melbourne, Monaco, Barcelona, Austria, Silverstone, Spa, Budapest, Monza, and Madrid. Ugo Ugochukwu won the championship in Madrid with 159 points after winning two races, one sprint and one feature, and finishing in the points in all but six feature or sprint races.
Freddie Slater finished second in the championship with 145 points. Tuukka Taponen completed the top three with 109 points. Taito Kato was in fourth with 105 points. Fifth place actually finished in a tie with Theophile Nael and Pedro Clerot with 88 points.
F1 Academy
F1 Academy has completed four of its six races this season, limited by the cancellations of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. They first raced in Shanghai, then Montreal, where they held an extra race to make up for the cancellations, Silverstone, and Zandvoort. They will race next at the United States Grand Prix, October 22-25, where they will have another extra race. They will end their season at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, November 19-22.
Alisha Palmowski leads the championship going into COTA weekend with 136 points. Second is a large margin away with Emma Felbermayr having 88 points. Nina Gademan is in third with 71 points, Alba Larsen in fourth with 50 points, and there is another tie for fifth with Payton Westcott and Megan Bruce both having 49 points.
