The Briton will face his third full season in F1 as the team's most experienced driver after Ocon's departure. He trusts in his evolution and in his ability to influence the car's development alongside a possible debutant.

Ollie Bearman is ready to take a step forward at Haas. The British driver, who will face his third full season in Formula 1 in 2027, sees himself capable of assuming more responsibilities within the team after the confirmation that Esteban Ocon will leave the team at the end of 2026, a change in the lineup that could make Bearman the most veteran driver at Haas, especially if the team decides to sign a rookie to occupy the vacant seat.

"I think I have advanced a lot in these two years, when I compare myself with... well, my first races took place in very strange circumstances, but even if I compare myself with the level I had last year, I have undoubtedly advanced a lot," Bearman declared. The Briton especially highlighted his evolution in communication with the team and his ability to extract the maximum performance from the engineers and mechanics: "Above all, in what refers to how I communicate with the team off the track and knowing how to get the most out of the guys, in addition to developing the car, so, in that sense, I'm looking forward to assuming this new role," he added.

Until now, Bearman has had the backing of Ocon, a much more experienced driver who joined Haas in 2025 with the mission of leading the project; that dynamic is about to change. If Haas opts for a debutant to replace Ocon, Bearman could assume a leadership role in the car's development and in the team's direction. Despite still being early in his Formula 1 career, Rafael Câmara, a Ferrari academy driver and current Formula 2 runner-up, is widely rumored to be the frontrunner for the vacant seat.

The context is favorable for Bearman. The Briton has delivered a solid first two seasons with Haas, scoring points regularly and showing a maturity beyond his years. His ability to adapt to the team's difficulties and his positive attitude have made him a key piece of the project. Now, with the added responsibility that comes with being the most experienced driver, Bearman will have the chance to show he is ready to lead.

The 2027 season will be a major challenge for Haas, an American team that has gone through ups and downs in recent years, and it needs to take a step forward to consolidate itself in the midfield. The arrival of a new driver, whether Câmara or another candidate, will bring freshness and youth but also uncertainty; in that scenario, Bearman's experience and leadership will be fundamental to maintaining the team's cohesion and guaranteeing a smooth transition.

Bearman faces this new chapter with enthusiasm and confidence. He knows the challenge is big, but he also knows he has worked hard to earn this opportunity. His growth as a driver and his ability to take on responsibility support him.

Haas trusts him, and he trusts himself; next season will be the definitive test of his readiness to lead the team toward a better future.
