Stewart Cink carries a three-shot lead into Sunday at the Regions Tradition as he chases another senior major win in Alabama.

Stewart Cink is one round away from adding another senior major championship to what’s quickly becoming a dominant PGA TOUR Champions season.

Cink battled difficult wind Saturday at the Regions Tradition, shooting a 1-under 71 at Greystone Golf & Country Club to reach 15-under 201.

That pushed his lead to three shots entering Sunday’s final round in Alabama, where the 52-year-old is trying to win back-to-back senior majors.

The round wasn’t as clean as his first two days, when Cink opened with consecutive 7-under 65s. Gusty winds made scoring tougher, and Cink had to grind through a rough stretch late in the round.

He made double-bogey on the par-5 15th, but birdies at No. 14 and No. 18 helped him steady the day and protect the lead.

It’s already been a huge year for Cink. He won the Mitsubishi Electric Championship in January, added the Hoag Classic, and captured the Senior PGA Championship two weeks ago in Florida.

A win Sunday would give him his fourth PGA TOUR Champions victory of the season and his eighth senior title overall.

Colin Montgomerie, 62, made the biggest move Saturday with a 5-under 67 to climb into second place at 12 under. He closed with a bogey but still put himself in position to pressure Cink in the final round.

Doug Barron shot 69 and Steven Alker carded 71, leaving both at 10 under and five shots off the lead.

Saturday also brought another honor for Cink, who was named a U.S. Ryder Cup captain’s assistant by Jim Furyk along with Justin Leonard. The 2027 Ryder Cup will be played at Adare Manor in Ireland.

For now, Cink’s focus stays on Greystone, where the Alabama native has a chance to win another major close to home.
