Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy return as TGL unveils seven five-player rosters for 2027 with Brooks Koepka leading Motor City and 12 newcomers joining the league.

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will have more company when TGL returns. The league announced its 2027 rosters Tuesday, introducing Brooks Koepka’s Motor City Golf Club and expanding every team to five players as its third season takes shape.

The announcement puts 35 golfers across seven clubs, including 12 newcomers. For fans, that means fresh combinations and another team chasing defending champion Los Angeles Golf Club. For the teams, it means more decisions: Only three players compete in each match, so a bigger roster doesn’t guarantee anyone a spot every night.

Motor City immediately becomes one of the league’s most intriguing draws. Koepka brings five major championships to a group featuring Jackson Koivun, Si Woo Kim, Jake Knapp and Bud Cauley. It’s an expansion roster with enough recognizable talent to make opponents pay attention from the start.

Boston Common Golf supplied another offseason talking point by acquiring Shane Lowry from The Bay Golf Club in TGL’s first trade. Lowry joins McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Hideki Matsuyama and Michael Thorbjornsen, giving Boston another experienced option after its first-place regular-season finish in 2026.

“After two seasons, there’s history between these teams, and those growing rivalries bring added intensity to the competition,” said Rufus Hack, TMRW Sports’ president of golf.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, isn’t dismantling what worked. Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Sahith Theegala return, with Ben James filling the additional roster position. Keeping that championship group together gives the rest of the league a familiar target.

Woods’ Jupiter Links lineup retains Max Homa and Tom Kim, makes Akshay Bhatia a full-time member and adds Keith Mitchell. Jupiter reached last season’s finals, so the challenge now is turning another competitive roster into a title.

The changes extend well beyond the headliners. Ryan Fox and Blades Brown join Wyndham Clark, Min Woo Lee and Ludvig Åberg at The Bay. New York pairs newcomers Ben Griffin and Alex Fitzpatrick with Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young and Rickie Fowler.

Atlanta adds Michael Brennan alongside Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel and Chris Gotterup, who moves from alternate to a permanent roster position.

There are notable exits, too. Xander Schauffele, Adam Scott, Kevin Kisner and Lucas Glover aren’t returning.

The third season begins Dec. 27 at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. TGL has expanded its field and its lineup possibilities. Now comes the harder part: finding the right three-player combinations when the matches begin.
