The Blue Jays will have a tall hurdle to clear in Games 1 and 2 of the World Series against arguably the two best starters in the playoffs

The Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers are three days out from playing Game 1 of the 2025 MLB World Series.

Game 1 is set to take place at 5 p.m. PT/ 8 p.m. ET on Friday at Rogers Centre in Toronto. The Blue Jays, who finished the regular season as the No. 1 seed in the American League, will have home field advantage in the best-of-seven series. The Dodgers finished the regular season with the No. 3 seed in the National League.

The NL's representative's manager, Dave Roberts, announced their starting pitchers for Games 1 and 2 of the World Series on Tuesday.

For Los Angeles, Blake Snell will get the nod in Game 1 and Yoshinobu Yamamoto will get the ball in Game 2.

Friday will mark the fourth start of the postseason for Snell and Saturday will be the fourth start for Yamamoto

Snell has been arguably the best-performing starting pitcher in the playoffs this season.

Through three starts, Snell has struck out 28 batters in 21 innings pitched and has a 0.86 ERA. He's allowed two earned runs on six hits and has walked five batters. His last outing was an eight-inning performance against the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series on Oct. 13. He fanned 10 and allowed just one hit.

Yamamoto hasn't been far behind Snell in terms of postseason performance.

In his trio of postseason starts, Yamamoto has struck out 18 batters in 19.2 innings pitched and has a 1.83 ERA. He's walked four hitters, has hit a batter and has allowed six runs (four earned) on 13 hits (two homers).

Yamamoto had a complete game in his last appearance. He fanned seven, walked one and allowed one earned run on three hits (one home run) in nine innings against the Brewers on Oct. 14.

The World Series is played under a 2-3-2 format. Toronto will play the first two games of the series at Rogers Centre in Toronto, will head to Dodger Stadium for Games 3, 4 and (if-necessary 5) and if the series expands to Games 6 and 7, it will return to Rogers Centre.
