Chourio, 22, debuted with the Brewers in 2024 and immediately had a 21 home run season. The very next year, he hit 21 homers once again, and now he's at 20 here in 2026.
The Venezuelan native needs just two more blasts to set a new career high, it's worth noting he has 100+ fewer at-bats than he's had in each of the last two seasons, so all signs are pointing toward a new career high for the third-year outfielder.
Milwaukee made sure they locked Chourio up to a long-term contract, and rightfully so. He may not be the best defender in the league, but that will come with time, and his offense more than makes up for any defensive hit the team would take, which isn't even that much in the first place.
Chourio just played in his 101st game of the season, and his .820 OPS is on pace to be a new career high. To no surprise, his entire slash line is better than it's ever been before at .281/.342/.478.
A 3.8 WAR rookie season was going to be incredibly hard to top, but he's sitting at 3.0 this season in 47 fewer games played. Obviously, he won't be able to reach that same number of games played with only a month to go in the 2026 regular season, but he still has a chance to make an emphatic statement after starting the year on the Injured List.
