The Milwaukee Brewers have excelled at talent identification and development, so much so that MLB.com listed them in its top five farm systems among Major League Baseball’s 30 teams.
Players such as Brice Turang, Jackson Chourio, Sal Frelick, and Jacob Misiorowski have all emerged from Milwaukee’s farm system and have become important young players on the 40-man roster with a ton of potential. Now, the Brewers may have another young star on their hands: Shortstop Jesus Made.
Made, a native of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, is ranked as the No. 1 prospect for the Brewers in the team's 2025 prospect rankings and is only 18 years old. He has also become one of the top prospects on the board of ESPN MLB insider, Kiley McDaniel.
McDaniel listed Made at No. 3 on his top 100 list for MLB prospects in 2026; describing him as an almost unbelievably gifted, unique player whose ceiling isn't even clear yet.
“I sounded the alarm on Made in August 2024 (ranking him the 45th prospect in baseball) after he had completed his historic showing in the Dominican Summer League,” McDaniel wrote.
“All the pieces seemed to be there -- surface stats, visual report, advanced data -- to project him to have a huge 2025 in the United States, but the level of competition would be so much better that you could never be sure.”
Made excelled last season with the Brewers' Single-A affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats (now rebranded as the Wilson Warbirds), hitting .267 through 83 games before moving up to High-A Wisconsin. In 27 games with the Timber Rattlers, Made lit up the batter’s box as he registered a .343 batting average with a .915 OPS in 108 at-bats.
Before the end of the season, Made arrived in Double-A Biloxi. With the Shuckers, he only appeared in five games, but his ascension is noteworthy.
As the Brewers gear up for Spring Training, Made will add another achievement to his budding resume: A non-roster invitation to Phoenix, Ariz.
According to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Made, along with eight other players, were announced by the Brewers as non-roster invitees. This indicates that Made — who will not turn 19 years old until May 8 — has proven that playing on the American stage is anything but too much for him.
With Joey Ortiz and newcomer Jett Williams on the roster, it will probably be a long runway for Made to hear his name called up to the Major League roster; especially at shortstop with other prospects such as Luis Peña and Cooper Pratt to compete with.
However, his ability as a hitter already has McDaniel drawing comparisons to the minor-league career of New York Mets All-Star shortstop, Francisco Lindor.
McDaniel stated that in Lindor's age-20 season in the minors, he had 11 home runs. Made is over one year younger and had six homers across his three stops in Milwaukee's minor-league system to go along with six triples.
McDaniel believes Made could turn into a five-plus-tool player ,and if that happens, the baseball world should brace for impact.
