Emil Morales has continued to establish himself as one of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ top young hitters
At just 19 years old, Emil Morales is putting together one of the most impressive offensive seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers' minor-league system.
The Dodgers' No. 4 prospect reached another milestone Friday night, launching his 25th home run of the season during High-A Great Lakes' 3-2 victory over Lansing at Dow Diamond.
Morales' latest blast was more than another addition to his growing home run total. The two-run shot pushed his minor-league-leading RBI total to 113, further separating him as one of the most productive run producers in the Minors this season.
The performance also highlighted just how strong Morales has been throughout August.
The shortstop has driven in 27 runs across 22 games this month while hitting seven home runs. The seven homers represent the highest single-month total of his professional career, showing another level of power from one of the Dodgers' most promising young hitters.
Morales has also continued to produce consistently throughout the month. He entered Saturday with a 1.022 OPS in August, putting him in position to finish his second consecutive month with an OPS above 1.000.
That type of production has helped Morales establish himself as one of the organization's premier offensive prospects despite his age.
Morales began the season in Single-A before moving up to High-A, and he has handled the increased competition well. Between the two levels, he is batting .294 with a .931 OPS on the season.
His overall professional numbers are even more impressive. Morales owns a .309 career batting average with 53 home runs, 229 RBIs and a .963 OPS.
The Dodgers have plenty of young talent throughout their farm system, but Morales continues to stand out because of his combination of age, power and offensive consistency. Reaching 25 home runs before turning 20 further illustrates how advanced his bat has been compared with many players in his age group.
He is also now one of five Dodgers minor leaguers to reach the 25-homer mark this season, joining an impressive group of power hitters within the organization.
Morales' development will remain worth monitoring as he continues to climb through the system. His production at Great Lakes has given the Dodgers another potential long-term impact bat, while his continued success against older competition should only increase his stock.
There is still plenty of development ahead for Morales, particularly as he progresses toward the upper levels of the organization. However, his 2026 season has already provided plenty of evidence that the Dodgers may have a special offensive prospect on their hands.
With the regular season approaching its final weeks, Morales has a chance to add even more to an already impressive statistical resume. His latest home run was another reminder of why he ranks among the organization's most highly regarded prospects.
