The San Francisco Giants are promoting top prospects Josuar Gonzalez and Luis Hernandez to Single-A San Jose, according to Francys Romero of Beisbol FR.

The move sends the organization's top two prospects to full-season baseball after impressive performances in the Arizona Complex League. Gonzalez is ranked as San Francisco's No. 1 prospect, while Hernandez sits directly behind him at No. 2.

The Giants have been aggressive in building their international pipeline, signing the consensus top position player on the international market in consecutive years.

Gonzalez received a $2,997,500 signing bonus in 2025 before the organization followed with Hernandez in 2026, signing him for $4,997,500, the largest bonus awarded during that international signing class.

Both teenagers have quickly justified the organization's investment.

Hernandez, 17, slashed .298/.382/.535 with a .917 OPS in the Arizona Complex League, showcasing the advanced offensive approach that made him one of the most coveted international prospects in baseball.

Considering how recently he signed, his promotion comes quickly, but his polished bat and ability to consistently handle older competition made him a strong candidate to advance.

Long before joining the Giants, Hernandez had already earned a reputation for thriving against experienced competition. As a 15-year-old in Venezuela, he held his own against significantly older players, demonstrating mature pitch recognition, disciplined swing decisions, and the ability to consistently square up quality pitching.

Scouts believe Hernandez's advanced hitting ability is his biggest strength. Despite standing just 5-foot-10, he generates impressive bat speed and projects to develop above-average power as he adds strength.

His combination of barrel control, strike-zone awareness, and hard contact has many evaluators projecting him as an impact offensive player.

The tools extend beyond the batter's box. Hernandez is viewed as a fundamentally sound shortstop with reliable hands, a strong throwing arm, and the instincts to maximize his defensive ability. His baseball IQ and polished all-around game have helped establish him as one of the premier prospects in the Giants' farm system.

Gonzalez has been equally impressive. The 18-year-old hit .343/.451/.515 in the ACL, continuing to show why many evaluators believe he possesses the highest ceiling in San Francisco's system.

While Hernandez is often praised for his polish, Gonzalez's blend of athleticism and upside gives the Giants two of the most exciting young position players in the minor leagues.

Now, both prospects will take the next step together as they begin their full-season careers with Single-A San Jose.
