The Mariners reportedly have interest in Brendan Donovan and Jorge Polanco according to a recent article.

The Seattle Mariners' current offseason could elevate the organization from contenders to championship favorites.

Since the Mariners signed first baseman Josh Naylor to a five-year, $92.5 million contract, fans have anxiously awaited to see what the team will do next.

And a recent report from Adam Jude of the Seattle Times indicated where the M's could be looking next.

Jude listed several infield options for Seattle in his article.

According to Jude's reporting, the Mariners remain interested in bringing back Jorge Polanco.

Polanco is also "believed" to prefer a return to Seattle but the two side aren't close on a deal.

In his second year with the Mariners this past season, Polanco scored 64 runs in 138 games and hit 30 doubles and 26 home runs with 78 RBIs. He slashed .265/.326/.495 with an .821 OPS.

Jude's report also listed second basemen Brendan Donovan (St. Louis Cardinals), Ketel Marte (Arizona Diamondbacks) and Brandon Lowe (Tampa Bay Rays).

Donovan could be one of the best options available for Seattle and the M's reportedly have interest in him dating back months based on the report:

Donovan was on the Mariners’ radar a year ago and the M’s have again expressed interest in the versatile left-handed hitter.
If the Cardinals make him available, Donovan will attract a lot of teams for a lot of reasons. A first-time All-Star this year, Donovan is just 28 years old and he’s projected to make roughly $5 million in arbitration for 2026.

Donovan scored 64 runs in 118 games this past season and hit 32 doubles and 10 homers with 50 RBIs. He slashed .287/.353/.422 with a .775 OPS. He was named an All-Star for the first time in his four-year major league career.

Jude also highlighted Donovan's versatility, which included him playing left field, third base and shortstop.

Jude described a trade to reunite with Marte "unlikely" and mentioned Lowe as a "fallback option" if the Mariners don't manage to acquire Polanco or Donovan.

Donovan is under team control through 2027 and is set to earn $5.75 million in his second year of arbitration in 2026 according to Spotrac.
