Jonny Farmelo and Jimmy Kingsbury will represent the organization in the Fall-Star Game

The Seattle Mariners' farm system has been considered one of the best in the major leagues the last several seasons.

In 2025, the Mariners had as many as nine prospects in both Baseball American and MLB Pipeline's respective top 100 rankings.

One of those top 100 prospects, Jonny Farmelo, has been competing in the Arizona Fall League alongside several other Mariners prospects. Farmelo and one other prospect, right-handed pitcher Jimmy Kingsbury, were named AFL "Fall-Stars" on Thursday.

Farmelo was one of three first-round picks for the Mariners in the 2023 MLB Draft. He's ranked No. 75 on MLB Pipeline's top 100 and No. 35 on Baseball America's top 100.

Farmelo missed most of 2025 due to a torn right ACL he suffered the previous season and a stress reaction in his rib.

In 29 games with the High-A Everett AquaSox, Farmelo scored 18 runs and hit six doubles, a triple and six home runs with 16 RBIs. He slashed .230/.318/.460 with a .778 OPS.

In the AFL, Farmelo has scored 13 times in 21 games and has hit three doubles, three triples and a homer with 15 RBIs. He's slashed .221/.400/.397 with a .797 OPS.

Kingsbury was picked in the 17th round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of Villanova. He spent all of 2025 with the Double-A Arkansas Travelers. He posted a 2.93 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 70.2 innings pitched across 44 outings (two starts).

In the AFL, Kingsbury has a 2.45 ERA and has fanned nine batters in 11 innings pitched across seven appearances.

Seattle had to test its pitching depth in the minor leagues this season due to injuries to the starting rotation and bullpen at the major league level.

The Mariners also started to see returns from the elite farm system. Top 100 prospects Cole Young (second baseman) and Harry Ford (catcher) both made their major league debuts. The organization's top overall prospect, Colt Emerson (shortstop) ended the year on the team's postseason taxi squad.

Farmelo is projected to make his major league debut in 2028 according to MLB Pipeline. There's a chance Kingsbury will play with Triple-A next season, and could make his major league debut if Seattle has to test its pitching depth again.
