One of the Seattle Mariners best prospects has been competing in the Arizona Fall League to make up for at-bats missed during the regular season.
Outfielder Jonny Farmelo, a first-round pick by the Mariners in the 2023 MLB Draft, was limited to just 29 games with the High-A Everett AquaSox in 2025 due to a torn right ACL and a stress reaction in his rib.
Farmelo scored 18 runs and hit six doubles, a triple and six home runs with 16 RBIs. He slashed .230/.318/.460 with a .778 OPS.
To make up for the time missed on the injured list, Farmelo was assigned to the AFL to compete with the Peoria Javelinas.
Entering Sunday, Farmelo had scored 13 times in 21 games and hit three doubles, three triples and a homer with 15 RBIs. He slashed .211/.394/.380 with a .774 OPS.
Farmelo was named a "Fall-Star." The Fall-Star game takes place at 5 p.m. PT on Sunday, and the 21-year-old outfielder was slotted in the starting lineup in a previous role.
Farmelo will hit cleanup and play left field. He'll hit in between Detroit Tigers prospect and American League third baseman Max Anderson (hitting No. 3) and Kansas City Royals catcher Blake Mitchell (hitting fifth).
Farmelo is ranked No. 75 on MLB Pipeline's top 100 and No. 35 on Baseball America's top 100.
Baseball America had the following scouting report on Farmelo:
The athletic Farmelo has been held to under 70 professional games over his first two years due to injury. When he is on the field Farmelo flashes an exciting blend of advanced hitting skills with potential for above-average game power and loud tools.
Farmelo is projected to make his major league debut in 2028, according to MLB Pipeline. But if he stays healthy and puts together a solid season, he can find himself a quick riser in the Mariners' farm system.
