Randy Arozarena's postseason hit record was broken by Ernie Clement in Game 7 of the World Series

The 2025 season has officially ended.

The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched their second-straight championship in a 5-4, 11-inning win in Game 7 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.

Saturday's contest was everything a Game 7 of a World Series should be, complete with home runs, stellar pitching, excellent defensive plays and a late-game comeback from the eventual champions.

One of the players for the Blue Jays also broke a Seattle Mariners outfielder's incredible postseason record.

In the bottom of the eighth, Toronto third baseman Ernie Clement hit a double off the left field wall. That hit was Clement's 30th of the season, which passed Randy Arozarena for the most in a single postseason in MLB history. Clement tied the record with a single to left field in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday.

Clement finished the game 3-for-5 with a run, a double and a steal.

For the postseason, Clement scored 13 runs in 18 games and hit six doubles, a triple and a homer with nine RBIs. He slashed .411/.416/.562 with a .978 OPS. This year was the first time in Clement's six-year career he's played in the postseason.

Arozarena set the previous record while he was still with the Tampa Bay Rays in the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season.

In the 2020 playoffs, Arozarena scored 19 runs in 20 games and hit three doubles, a triple and an MLB-record 10 home runs with 14 RBIs. He slashed .377/.442/.831 with a 1.273 OPS.

In the 2020 postseason, Arozarena was the best player on a Rays team that ultimately lost in the World Series, also to the Dodgers. Arozarena was named the American League Championship Series MVP that season.

Arozarena and Clement met against each other in the 2025 ALCS between the Mariners and Blue Jays. Toronto ultimately won the ALCS in seven games.
