Five Texas Rangers prospects were in action and at the center of the Surprise Saguaros' 12th game of the 2026 Arizona Fall League schedule.

On Monday afternoon, the Arizona Fall League season rolled on, and the Texas Rangers were front and center in the action.

Five Rangers prospects were in action as the Surprise Saguaros fell to the Solar Sox 7-4, dropping their AFL record to 8-4 for the season.

Despite the loss, the Saguaros are still tied for first place in the Fall League standings as they continue to battle for a spot in the championship game.

As for Monday's action, it was significant for Texas because their top prospect, Sebastian Walcott, was back in the lineup.

Walcott has key walk for Surprise

Batting third and serving as the designated hitter, Walcott went 0-for-3, but in the sixth, he drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home the first run of the game for Surprise. He would also punch out twice and pop out to the third baseman in foul territory.

As has been the plan all along, the young shortstop has been playing two to three times per week in the AFL, mixing in starts at both DH and short.

In the time that he has not been playing in games, Walcott has been getting in defensive work on the side after he missed much of the minor league season while recovering from elbow surgery and was only able to get in a handful of games in the field once he returned.

Outfielder Paxton Kling was also in action for Surprise on Wednesday. He continued his strong Fall League season, going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.

Rangers prospect Johnson has tough day

After grounding out and striking out in his first two at-bats, Kling would pick up a single in the seventh. In the eighth, he would rip a base hit up the middle for his second hit of the day. He would also steal second base in that same inning.

Rangers catcher Julian Brock also got the start for the Saguaros and had a solid day at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a sac fly.

Brock’s one hit came in the third when he ripped a base hit up the middle. His sac fly came in the bottom of the seventh.

On the mound, it was a tough day for Jacob Johnson, who got the start and surrendered five earned runs on three hits in just two innings of work.

Alejandro Chiquillo also pitched in the game, going 3.1 innings and allowing just one run with three walks and two strikeouts.
