Time is running out and the clock is ticking on the Colorado Rockies, who are trying not to record 100 losses in the 2026 MLB season. On Sunday at Truist Park in Atlanta, the Atlanta Braves, though, pushed Colorado closer to that mark.

Atlanta first baseman Matt Olson, who came to the plate in the bottom of the 10th inning with a 0-for-4 day at the plate, connected for a game-winning RBI single, The Braves got past the Rockies 3-2 and secured a three-game sweep. 

It was the seventh straight victory for a Braves team looking to make a statement going into postseason play. The last thing that the Rockies needed right now was to run into a hot team. As a result, the series didn't go their way.

It was a bitter loss for Colorado, who came back from being down 2-0 to tie things up at 2-2 in the top of the eighth inning.

Rockies starting pitcher Mason Adams worked a pretty solid five innings, giving up just five hits, two earned runs, walked two, struck out five, and gave up a home run.

Reliever Ryan Feltner has been sick as a dog, but he came on in the bottom of the sixth and, unfortunately, gave up Olson's big hit. Feltner took the loss and ended up with four-plus innings on the mound.

Before dogging on Feltner any, he gave up just one run (it was unearned), walked two, and struck out six. Colorado, though, really didn't have much offense in the ballgame. The Rockies finished with seven total hits, compared to Atlanta's 10 hits. That lack of offense really hurt Colorado in a big way.

Colorado was 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left five total runners on the bases. As for the Braves, they were 3-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left 10 total runners on the bases.

In the top of the sixth inning, after Ryan Ritter struck out to lead off the inning, Jake McCarthy smashed his 14th home run -- a solo shot -- to right field. That gave the Rockies their first run, cutting Atlanta's lead in half at 2-1.

Then, in the top of the eighth with Atlanta reliever Dylan Lee replacing Dylan Dodd, Brett Sullivan led off with a single to right field. Ritter put down a perfect sacrifice bunt, moving Sullivan over to second base. McCarthy grounded out to first for the second out, allowing Sullivan to advance to third.

Connor Norby's RBI single scored Sullivan and things were tied up at 2-2 going into the latter innings.

Colorado headed home after the loss, where it opens a three-game series on Monday night at Coors Field against the Baltimore Orioles. After the Orioles leave Denver, the St. Louis Cardinals come to town for three games,
