Now, let's look a bit closer at what Goodman did on Saturday night. He recorded his Major League Baseball-leading sixth multi-home run game this season. That's the most for a Rockies player in one season since Carlos Gonzalez had six multi-homer games back in 2015.
Goodman is now tied with Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber with 33 home runs, which are the most in the major leagues. Let's add more context around Goodman's homer number. He's hit the most by a Rockies player in one season since two players -- Trevor Story (35) and Nolan Arenado (41) -- smashed some dingers back in 2019.
He went 4-for-5 at the plate against the Royals, scoring two runs, smashed two home runs, and totaled up five RBIs. Not a bad night at the plate for him, eh?

First baseman TJ Rumfield had himself a tidy night, going 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs. Also, Rumfield had his third game with three or more RBIs during the 2026 MLB season as well.
For a twist, Cole Carrigg played at shortstop for the first time in his big-league career. he went 0-for-2. But Carrigg walked in the third, seventh, and eighth innings. It was his first career game with three free passes.
It was quite an impressive win in front of the hometown fans on Saturday night. Can the Rockies pick up a series victory on Sunday afternoon at Coors Field? Rockies fans sure hope so.
