It appears that the Colorado Rockies are in the business of dealing away some players before or at the MLB Trade Deadline, which comes up on Aug. 3.

Four pitchers and three infielders are on the list provided by USA Today MLB Insider Bob Nightengale. Underdog MLB had that information in a post on X, giving Nightengale credit in the post.

OK, who did Nightengale mention? Outfielders Mickey Moniak and Jake McCarthy, infielder Willi Castro, and pitchers Antonio Senzatela, Kyle Freeland, Michael Lorenzen, and Tomoyuki Sugano.

In looking at where the Rockies are now prior to Sunday's matchup against Jacob Misiorowski and the Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado sits in last place in the National League West Division.

So, if Nightengale's report is to be trusted, then Rockies president of baseball operations Paul DePodesta and general manager Josh Byrnes are looking to make some deals.

Another note from Nightengale: It appears that the Rockies are letting MLB teams know that these players are available.

One cannot be sure how a report like this affects those seven players, Frankly, seeing McCarthy mentioned in this report is a bit stunning. He always goes out, plays hard, and runs around the bases for an extra base when McCarthy trusts his instincts,

Senzatela, who has a winning record as a relief pitcher this season, has proven to be, at times, one of the best relievers out of the Colorado bullpen. He's currently 9-2 overall with a 3.53 ERA in 32 appearances. Senzatela also has three saves on his record, too.

In 51 innings, Senzatela has totaled 45 strikeouts yet his WHIP now stands at 1.24.

Freeland and Lorenzen have not been good, so seeing DePodesta and Byrnes offering them up as trade bait does make sense.

Colorado might be looking to get some future stars back from these trades.

Sugano is 10-4 this season with a 4.69 ERA. He's totaled 56 strikeouts but has a 1.29 WHIP.

There have been plenty of rumors running around MLB trade chatter about McCarthy, Moniak, and even Senzatela. 

One player not mentioned in Nightengale's report is catcher Hunter Goodman, so it appears that DePodesta and Byrnes are going to do their best to keep him around. That should be the right call as Goodman has been the big hitter in the Rockies' lineup. That also goes for rookie Cole Carrigg, who is still getting used to MLB life.

It will be interesting to see if the Rockies include someone from the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes in any trade done. One player who should not be moved at all is Charlie Condon, who has been tearing up the Pacific Coast League this season.

Time to pull out your MLB trade scorecards, Rockies fans. It looks like the ballclub is going to move forward without some of these players.
