For the Colorado Rockies, the lineup of prospects in the minor leagues are worth paying attention to heading into 2027.
There is a desire to grow and respond from a fourth consecutive 100-plus-loss season with yet another one in 2027 for the Colorado Rockies. In taking a quick review of their lineup, players like Cole Carrigg and TJ Rumfield put a flush of new energy into the on-the-field product.
While there are a number of prospects still learning the ropes in the A and Double-A levels, it's worth taking a look at their numbers.
Shortstop Ethan Holliday played at Fresno in A ball in 2026. It was his second straight season at that level, but he's continuing to improve. Holliday finished with a slash line of .262/.395/.557 with an OPS of .952.
Rockies await Holliday's arrival
The Rockies' No. 1 pick (No. 4 overall) in the 2025 MLB Draft is estimated to be ready for the major leagues in 2029. That gives him potentially two or three more seasons to rise up through the ranks before showing up for fans in the Mile High City.
Outfielder/second baseman Roldy Brito, who was signed by the Rockies on Jan. 15, 2024, actually saw time with two minor-league teams. He finished up with the A+ Spokane Indians. Between playing at Fresno in A-ball and Spokane, Brito finished up with a solid slash line of .305/.361/.455 with 10 home runs and 75 RBIs.
Imagine a future where Brito becomes a solid lineup player for Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer. He has an estimated time of arrival into the MLB world in 2029.
When will Condon arrive in MLB?
Now we come to first baseman/outfielder Charlie Condon, who gained a lot of attention in 2026 yet didn't reach the majors. Condon, who is due to join the Rockies next season, put together a solid season playing for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes.
He had a slash line of .270/.390/.514 with 27 home runs and 95 RBIs. If Condon can make that leap to playing at Coors Field in 2027, then he just might become a stellar addition to the Rockies. Condon was the No. 1 pick (No. 3 overall) in the 2024 MLB Draft by Colorado.
Don't forget about shortstop Tyler Bell, who was the No. 1 pick (No. 10 overall) by the Rockies in the 2026 MLB Draft, and outfielder Christian Arguelles, who was signed by Colorado in January 2024, who are the top Nos. 4 and 5 picks in the team's prospects list.
If these players keep on moving up in the minor leagues and making an appearance for the Rockies soon, then the ballclub might get some help from homegrown talent.
