Obviously, there was some concern about Colson Montgomery through the first two White Sox games of the season, but he opened Sunday afternoon's game with a grand slam, his first home run of the year.
He followed that up with an RBI single, and now all of a sudden has some really strong numbers to start the season.
Ultimately, I think White Sox fans need to just get used to the fact that this is what Colson is, and he's going to have stretches where he really struggles and has uncompetitive at-bats, and those will be frustrating to watch. But at the end of the day, his power and ability to drive in runs will shine through and make him a productive offensive player. And at the shortstop position, he's gonna be really valuable.
If he's hitting 30+ home runs as a shortstop, you're gonna be able to live with the strikeouts and slumps that happen on occasion.
