George & LaCombe to AAA

The White Sox have promoted two pitching prospects to Triple-A Charlotte.

Pierce George, 23, was selected by the White Sox in the 13th round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of Alabama. After finding success with both Kannapolis and Winston-Salem earlier this season, George was promoted to Double-A Birmingham, where he's 6-2 with a 4.91 ERA over 25 outings.

He's been particularly sharp lately, allowing just one earned run over his last 13.1 innings. That stretch has now earned him another promotion.

Mathias LaCombe was a 12th-round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft out of a community college in Arizona. The French-born right-hander has spent the past few years developing in the White Sox system, but he's taken a significant step forward in 2026 between High-A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham.

Since the start of August, LaCombe has thrown 16 innings and allowed just two earned runs with the Barons (1.13 ERA). Now, he'll get his first opportunity at Triple-A Charlotte.

Both pitchers are names to watch moving forward in the White Sox system.
