Brad Keselowski is set to give an update on his future NASCAR plans during a press conference set for Saturday morning at Martinsville Speedway.
RIDGEWAY, Va. — Brad Keselowski is set to give an update on his future NASCAR plans during a press conference set for Saturday at 11 a.m. at Martinsville Speedway.
Keselowski stated on social media he will address "several" questions about his future during a press conference Saturday morning at Martinsville Speedway. It's unclear what exactly he will talk about during the press conference.
Keselowski thanked people for expressing their "outpouring of support and interest" in his future plans, since announcing his split from RFK Racing on Sept. 29.
Keselowski addressed the media that Saturday in the Las Vegas Motor Speedway media center. However, details remained scant when asked about what he would do in 2027.
Meanwhile, RFK Racing President Chip Bowers was more candid about the split. Bowers said Keselowski wanted to drive beyond when the team wanted him to focus more on an internal competition role than driving.
Where could Brad Keselowski go?
Speculation first connected Keselowski to Kaulig Racing as they look to expand their NASCAR program with Stellantis – parent company of Dodge and Ram Trucks – beyond the Truck Series and into the Cup Series in 2027.
Kaulig fields five trucks in the Truck Series. Currently, Corey LaJoie, Brenden Queen, Mini Tyrrell, Justin Haley and a mix of "free agent" drivers fill those spots. However, no one is confirmed back in 2027 – although Queen and Haley are likely to return.
Kaulig also fields two Cup cars – for AJ Allmendinger and Ty Dillon. Allmendinger is set to return while Dillon is favored to return.
Kaulig executive Chris Rice deflected rumors about Keselowski joining them, saying they talked – but it was regarding an unrelated matter.
Piecing through questions to Keselowski and his answers, Denny Hamlin surmised the 2012 Cup champion may end up with a Chevrolet organization in 2027. Rumors swirled that he may end up at Richard Childress Racing or at Trackhouse Racing.
RCR signed Austin Hill for its Cup program in 2027 but Austin Dillon is fluid with his family ties to the organization. Trackhouse has Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen – and Connor Zilisch who is set to leave for Hendrick in 2028 to take over for Alex Bowman.
Bowman and his No. 48 team has struggled this season, sitting outside of the top-20 while their teammates easily made the Chase.
News also popped up in the last week that Keselowski made an unsuccessful bid to buy into RFK Racing. It followed talk from Keselowski that he could still end up in the No. 6 car despite the highly-publicized "split".
There is no word on who could take over the No. 6 car if Keselowski does leave.
