Some players stand out more than others. For the Philadelphia 76ers, it’s hard for some players to do that when you’re surrounded by a plethora of all-stars. With the Brooklyn Nets coming to town, there are a few players to watch out for:

1. Jabari Walker

Walker showcased all of his skills against the New York Knicks, and it impressed quite a few people. Walker was very active on the glass, where he grabbed 11 of them. Nine of them were defensive rebounds, and that’s an important stat. He proved to be able to hold his own defensively, as he had a block and a steal. Where he’s really going to contribute will be on the offensive side. Walker scored nine of his eleven points from the three-point line, showing he can be reliable in scoring situations.

2. Caleb Love

Love was a surprise going into this preseason game. Love was a G-League standout for the Portland Trailblazers and showed he had some pretty good offensive skills. A reason he was brought on by the 76ers in hopes he could contribute to the team. Love proved the front office right as he led all bench players with 15 points in the preseason opener. Love also found his teammates nabbing six assists to go along with his impressive shooting. That’s the part of his game that many know. But can he play defense? It’s not a slight on him, but it’s something that could make him a liability. Yes, he can score, but it’s important to pay attention to what he provides defensively.

3. Jameer Nelson Jr.

Nelson Jr. played in front of his father, Jameer Nelson, who is the assistant GM for the 76ers. Nelson was all over the court. He wreaked havoc for the Knicks and nabbed an offensive rebound along with creating contact, which then led to free throws. He showed shades of his old man when he took a player one-on one and found his way to the basket and made a contested layup. Nelson is currently on an exhibit 10 contract, and it could pay off for both sides. If Nelson Jr. can continue to trend upward, there just might be a spot for him on this roster overflowing with guards.

While many are hoping to see more starters, it just might not be a big thing to see considering this is the preseason. What they can expect is to see what they have, and it could give the bigger picture of what they need outside of the center depth. The 76ers have much more to see, and there’s plenty of game left to play.
