Philadelphia look to add to their summer camp and a familiar face is coming for a chance.
The Philadelphia 76ers have signed some new, yet old, faces to the roster.
The 76ers have signed Taco Fall, Jameer Nelson Jr., and Saint Thomas to Exhibit 10 contracts. These contracts allow teams to sign a player to a one-year, non-guaranteed minimum salary NBA deal that allows teams to bring players to training camp or Summer League while securing their G League affiliate rights.
For Taco Fall, this will be a return to the NBA after a few years playing overseas. As for Jameer Nelson Jr., he's yet to make an appearance in the NBA. He is also the son of the 76ers' EVP of Basketball Ops and former NBA player, Jameer Nelson. Saint Thomas spent the 2025-2026 season with the Blue Coats. All three are eligible for two-way contracts.
These additions are very interesting, especially the Tacko Fall signing. Fall hasn’t played in the association since 2022. His addition will provide substantial depth behind Joel Embiid. Fall was also a fan favorite in Boston and a former teammate of Jaylen Brown.
Mind you, these contracts are non-guaranteed and are really used to evaluate talent. So, it’s not really guaranteed that these players will make the team when the season rolls around. The good thing about these contracts is knowing they can be placed in the G-League and allow you to call them up whenever it’s needed.
Nelson Jr. has been on a different path than his dad. Unlike his father, who was drafted in the first round, Junior went undrafted before joining the Sacramento Kings G-League team, the Stockton Kings. Last season, Nelson Jr averaged 18 points on a 48.5% field goal percentage. Nelson Jr. could be a sneaky addition and may find his way onto the roster even with a stacked guard room.
Saint Thomas has some familiarity with the Philadelphia 76ers, considering he played for their G-League team. Thomas averaged 5.4 points and 2.4 assists.
These players could just be camp bodies that help the team gear up for the season. A player like Tacko Fall may be used as a scout for one Victor Webanyama, figuring out the best way to handle someone of his length.
These signings signal we’re one step closer to the start of the season. In just a month’s time, the real Philadelphia 76ers team with LeBron James, Brown, Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, and Tyrese Maxey will take the floor. Then all the speculation will stop, and we can prepare for the right now.
