Dwayne Wade loves the move to Philadelphia by LeBron James. It was made with all intentions to win a championship.
Everyone has given their thoughts on the LeBron James move to the Philadelphia 76ers. Some say he’s ring chasing, while others say he made the best move for him from a basketball standpoint. Well, it seems Dwayne Wade believes the latter.
Wade appeared on the Conversation with Cam podcast and detailed how it was the best move for James. Not just for himself, but for basketball. When James made his choice, it was the best chance for him to continue winning in a way he hadn’t had since his Miami Heat days.
This team is stacked. Jaylen Brown being on the team was the final nail in the coffin. Wade continued by stating that for James, going to the East to win is more “right away” for James and the 76ers. Meaning, this is a clear path for him to get back in title contention.
Wade also believes this isn’t the end of the team making moves for a chance to win. Now, whatever those moves are, no one knows, but it could lead to another strong player to bring in to win. When Wade means right away, he’s detailing that the roster has enough to win at a high rate and lead to a high seeding.
He’s absolutely right. How many teams in the history of the NBA have four all-stars? Prior to James coming to Philadelphia, he was on a Los Angeles team that saw a 40-year-old player play nearly 30-plus minutes a night. If that’s not bad enough, when one player goes down, it’s up to James to get the job done. In Philadelphia, if he or another player were to get hurt, there are two other stars that could hold down the fort and get the team in the win column.
Now, the East will be way tougher than it was the last time he was in the conference. His dominance of said conference can’t go unnoticed. This new Eastern Conference is why many have their doubts about this team. Well, this and the struggles of dealing with players who statistically need the ball in their hands to be effective. Needless to say, this team still gives James what he wants.
Miami was considered a second option in the eyes of Wade, but it would have taken some maneuvering. Besides, James may not be the best fit if they managed to have Giannis Antetokounmpo on the team.
James will have to prove this team has what it takes to win, or there will be some serious doubts by many, including the fanbase.
