Jaylen Brown Reuniting With Former Celtics Teammate in Philadelphia

A new face was added to the Philadelphia 76ers roster, and he has quite the relationship with one other teammate.

Jaylen Brown and Taco Fall were once teammates on the Boston Celtics and are now together once again with the 76ers. Now, their paths to the team may be different, but they are reunited yet again. Fall is here on an exhibit 10 contract, while Brown was brought in through trade. Either way this could be another match made in heaven. Better yet, it could be another rendition of the Boban Marjonavic and Tobias Harris friendship.

Fall and Brown have had a close relationship that extends beyond the basketball court. Brown was named as the godfather to Tacko Fall’s daughter. It’s that kind of relationship that makes one love the game of basketball. If Fall performs admirably, he could see his way onto the roster. It would make the most sense considering the depth behind Joel Embiid is nonexistent.

Fall was brought in by the Celtics, and many were enamoured with his size, and he immediately became a fan favorite. Whenever he would enter the game, the crowd would erupt. He played in 37 games from 2019 to 2022 before heading overseas. This new chance in Philadelphia will give him a chance to show how much he’s developed since leaving the NBA.

Brown's excitement for Fall’s signing is very telling. Brown took to social media and had a simple “GOAT” post, emphasizing how great the addition was to the team. If these two can be on the court at the same time, it could be a problem for everyone else.

Fall’s height already makes him a hassle to deal with. You add him into the pick and roll scenario; it’s going to be something that leads to easy offense. Defensively they would be a nightmare together. If Brown manages to get beat, he knows he’ll have his close friend nearby to force an arrant look at the rim.

Fall’s 7'7" frame is something that would be needed whenever the 76ers have to go against the NBA’s new toy, Victor Webanyama. Nonetheless, what if Brown advocates for Fall the way he did for the 76ers when he was recruiting LeBron James? We all know Brown has one of the best sales pitches in the association.

No matter what happens between the two on the court, they are sure to remain friends and keep each other’s spirits high.
