The saga between the Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo could come to an end this offseason as the team is prepared to trade their franchise legend. 

Talks of Giannis being traded began last offseason when the New York Knicks reportedly inquired about the Greek superstar, but no deal was made. They continued to heat up in the regular season with multiple teams having interest as the trade deadline approached. 

Giannis remained on the team past the trade deadline, but as injury sidelined him for the season in March, and the team failed to make the Play-In Tournament, leaving his future in Milwaukee in doubt. 

According to Marc Stein, Boston and Miami are the two most intriguing destinations for Giannis. 

“I've heard something similar from a few different teams since the Chicago draft combine: Miami and Boston are increasingly perceived to be the potential trade destinations that currently — underline currently — most intrigue Milwaukee's Antetokounmpo," wrote Stein in his newsletter. 

It's been reported that Giannis wants to play for a championship contender and would prefer to stay in the Eastern Conference. 

Boston finished second in the East this past seaosn, but lost in the first round to the Philadelphia 76ers after blowing a 3-1 lead. 

Miami failed to make the playoffs this past season after losing in the Play-In tournament. 

If the Bucks are looking to get back immediate help, Boston could potentially offer up Jaylen Brown, which would give Milwaukee an All-NBA player who is still in the prime of his career.

Instead of going into a complete rebuild, they could enter into more of a retooling phase, building around Brown and his strengths. 

Milwaukee would likely get a draft pick or two back in return as well. 

Giannis heading to Boston would make them the immediate favorites going into next year, or second at worst behind the New York Knicks. A duo of Jayson Tatum and Giannis would be difficult for any team in the East to matchup with, assuming they stay health. 

If the Bucks want to rebuild, Miami will be able to offer draft picks and young players like Kel’el Ware and Jaime Jaquez Jr.. 

Tyler Herro would likely be in the deal as well to make the money work, and Milwaukee could potentially flip him at a later date for more draft capital. 

There is no caliber of player on the level of Jaylen Brown, but the goal isn't to compete in the next two seasons, it's to compete in the next four seasons. 

Though Miami didn't make the playoffs this year, they are still viewed as a top destination in the East thanks to Erik Spoelstra. Giannis and Bam Adebayo would give Miami a defensive duo that would be difficult to matchup against.
