The Bucks need to make a decision.
The Milwaukee Bucks are sure to be scrupulous when it comes to exactly what kind of trade package they'll accept for their star Giannis Antetokounmpo, and it's that particularity that could be slowing down the overall process.
Two teams have emerged as the main contenders for Antetokounmpo, the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics, and while the extent of the Celtics' offer seems to be up in the air, the Heat have been more aggressive and forward with their offer, though it still may not be enough.
According to a report by ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the Bucks haven't been impressed by the Heat's offers for Antetokounmpo and that's been the main reason holding them back in moving forward with negotiations.
What Are The Heat Offering?
That being said, the Heat have also made several additions to their offers since the trade deadline, namely being willing to include star Tyler Herro as the main piece of the package.
The Heat's most recently reported offer, a package of Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel'el Ware along with additional players and picks would be a massive haul for the Bucks and jumpstart what's going to be an inevitable rebuild.
Milwaukee is also working on somewhat of a self-imposed deadline. At the organization's exit interviews at the close of this past season, Bucks ownership said that they wanted to have answer about the Antetokounmpo situation before the NBA Draft, which is now just days away.
At least knowing what the plan will be regarding their franchise star will give Milwaukee a lot more clarity when it comes to who they'll try and draft or what position they might want to target.
Clock's Ticking
If the Heat are being this aggressive about their offer now, it stands to reason that their aggressiveness paired with the Bucks' presumably increasing desperation to get a deal in the works could move the process along, especially with the Celtics' apparent indecision about dealing away Jaylen Brown in play.
With that timeline in mind, the next few days will be crucial when it comes to negotiations for what's become the hottest trade story of the last few years in the NBA.
The Heat look to be offering all that they can, save for an untold plethora of draft picks to sweeten the deal, while the Bucks look to have stamped their foot on the ground when it comes to accepting anything less than the best for the star that has played with their emotions and expectations for months now.
