The Bulls' first round pick looks like a future star and he showed it this summer in Las Vegas.

The Chicago Bulls finished 1-4 during the NBA's 2026 NBA Summer League circuit, but the team's lackluster record wasn't the biggest story.

The play of first round draft pick Caleb Wilson, selected fourth overall, made waves throughout the NBA as he looked like he could become the next Kevin Garnett with better shooting range.

On Tuesday, Wilson was given a well-earned distinction as he was selected to the league's first team along with three first-round picks and one second rounder.

Wilson's Monster Summer League

The former North Carolina Tar Heels freshman star turned in a monster Summer League performance, averaging 23.5 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game, 1.3 steals per game and 2.5 blocks per game.

Wilson showed impressive range hitting his three-pointers at a 41.9% clip.

He finished with an even 50% shooting percentage and got many of his points on thunderous dunks that electrified the Vegas crowds.

Judging by his Summer League performance, Wilson looks like the type of player who can sell tickets from the opening tip-off in the Windy City this season.

Boozer, Lendeborg Join Wilson on First Team

Four other standouts joined the Bulls rookie on the first team including 2025-26 national champion Yaxel Lendeborg of Michigan and former Duke superstar Cameron Boozer, son of ex-Bulls star Carlos Boozer.

Boozer put up 18 points per game and eight rebounds per game with the Memphis Grizzlies, showing that his toughness and smooth shooting are solid bets to translate at the pro level.

Lendeborg showed as much versatility and maturity as any rookie while leading the Golden State Warriors to the Summer League championship with averages of 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds.

The team was rounded out by Milwaukee Bucks first round guard Brayden Burries and Cleveland Cavaliers second round guard Maleek Thomas.

Burries turned in a stat line that would make Devin Booker proud with averages of 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.

Thomas was arguably the surprise of the Summer League with averages of 27.3 points per game and 48.5% shooting from three-point range.

Wilson Has Time to Prepare for 2026-27 Season

Wilson's attention is now turning toward making himself NBA ready with the league expected to announce the Bulls' preseason schedule some time this month.

The Bulls are expected to start exhibition play some time in early October which gives Wilson approximately 2 1/2 months to prepare.

Wilson has a tall task ahead of him as a relatively slight-of-frame rookie in a rough-and-tumble Eastern Conference.

His aggressiveness and never-back-down attitude will serve him well at the NBA level;  now the real hard work begins.
