The Grizzlies, who look to start a new chapter after moving on from Ja Morant in the offseason, will enter the season in a rebuild around Boozer, who was drafted No. 3 overall in this year's NBA Draft.
Memphis added depth in the 2026 NBA draft and the trade market. The team's overall rating in NBA 2K for the 2026-27 season is 80. Boozer received the rating of 79, which is tied with forward AJ Dybantsa and guard Darryn Peterson.

Cameron Boozer Learns His Rating
Boozer spoke with Ronnie Singh, also known as Ronnie2K, who is the head of lifestyle and content marketing for the video game franchise. He is also the public figure whom players engage with when they are not satisfied with their ratings.
The Duke product is an avid fan of the game and has played for years. Ronnie2K revealed Boozer's rating by having him guess, via multiple choice, what his rating was. Despite being rated a 79 overall, Boozer felt that it was a nice start regarding his rating in the league.
Boozer smiled and joked that NBA 2K tends to do rookies "dirty" when it comes to first-year ratings. When asked how his rating would look this time next year for NBA 2K28, he believes that he will be in the mid-to-high 80s.
The Future of the Franchise
Boozer, who selected No. 27 for his jersey to honor his mother, has been seen as the next franchise player for the Grizzlies. He averaged 18 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists while shooting 49 percent from the field in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
On the flip side, he averaged 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in the Las Vegas Summer League. He was one of the most consistent players throughout the summer and helped lead the team to a championship, earning him All-Summer League First-Team honors.
The Grizzlies will be a young team, but the front office will decide how to shape the roster. The projected starting lineup for 2026-27 could feature Scotty Pippen Jr., Cedric Coward, Jerami Grant, Boozer, and Zach Edey.
