Hawks guard Dyson Daniels earned a 98 steal rating in NBA 2K27, tying him for second in the league, but his 3-point rating tells a different story.
The NBA 2K27 steal ratings for the top 10 players have been revealed, offering an early look at who can pick pockets in the game.
While the Atlanta Hawks didn't have any players ranked No. 1 in this category, they did reach the top five in the rankings. NBA 2K27 is set to release Sept. 4, with player ratings now available.
Spurs center Victor Wembanyama, former guard Derrick Rose, and WNBA guard Caitlin Clark are the 2K feature covers for this year's game. The team's overall rating in NBA 2K for the 2026-27 season is 82. Atlanta added depth in the 2026 NBA draft, through free agency, and the trade market.
Hawks guard Dyson Daniels is rated 98 in steals in a four-way tie with guard Ausar Thompson (DET), forward Matisse Thybulle (LAL), and guard Cason Wallace (OKC).
NBA 2K published the steal ratings on its X (formerly Twitter) account on Aug. 8.
Redemption
Daniels, a key piece of Atlanta's future, is a promising guard who can defend multiple positions, force turnovers, and get to the rim. He does struggle to shoot consistently from beyond the arc, which is why teams tend to sag off him defensively.
The Hawks guard is the team's lowest-ranked three-point shooter in this year's upcoming NBA 2K game. However, he still has time to improve, and this new-look roster could provide him with the chance.
Last season, Daniels averaged 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 51.7% from the field. He struggled shooting from three, shooting a career-low 18.8% from three-point range.
Despite the 6-foot-7 guard's decline in three-point shooting, he could bounce back during the 2026-27 season. During the 2024-25 season, he shot a career-high 34.0% from three.
Although 34.0% is not a strong mark from deep, Daniels still has the opportunity to shoot more consistently from deep.
Daniels NBA2K Rating
Daniels' overall NBA 2K rating is 83, and he has 14 Badges, which give players specific advantages. He is rated 83 as a defender, with a 76 playmaking rating and a 79 athleticism rating.
This season's Atlanta roster consists of more floor spacing and more 3-point shooting. Jalen Johnson will be able to get his teammates involved and take over when needed. The addition of Luguentz Dort will take defensive pressure off Daniels to create and will allow him to cut backdoor for an easy layup/dunk.
Right now, if the season started today, the starting lineup could consist of CJ McCollum, Nickeil Alexander-Walker (or Daniels), Dort, Johnson, and Onyeka Okongwu.
The second rotation could feature Kingston Flemings or Ryan Nembhard, Aaron Wiggins, Dort, Corey Kispert and Jock Landale.
