An NBA insider recently floated the idea of the Miami Heat signing Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard

In the summer of 2010, the Miami Heat shocked the NBA world when they acquired LeBron James and Chris Bosh to pair them alongside Dwyane Wade.

With three of the top 10 players in the league, the Heat won two championships in four straight Finals appearances. Just imagine if they could off a similar feat 16 years later.

According to NBA insider Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson, the Heat could go after both Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard during free agency.

Robinson talked about it during an appearance on Fox Sports Radio with Rob Parker.

“Say Giannis goes to Miami," Robinson said. "Imagine a world where Norman Powell and Kawhi Leonard reunite in Miami alongside Bam Adebayo.”

A combo of Powell, Leonard, Antetokounmpo and Adebayo would almost certainly make the Heat a contender in the Eastern Conference. Adebayo and Antetokounmpo are close friends while Powell and Leonard were former teammates with the Clippers.

The Heat would have to do some serious numbers-crunching but general manager Andy Elisburg is known for making things happen. For this to happen, they would likely have to dump most of the current roster. That means guard Tyler Herro, forwards Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez and center Kel'el Ware are gone. The Heat would also have to give up a few draft picks.

The Heat then would have fill out the remainder of the roster sort of like they did during the Big Three era. Those teams were constructed with league veterans around All-Stars Wade, James and Bosh.

This still seems like a far-fetched possibility but stranger things have happened. No one expected the Heat to land James and Bosh in 2010, either. A move as such would also put team president Pat Riley back in the good graces of Heat fans who have grown upset with the lack of change over the past few years.

Stayed tuned. Free agency is only a few weeks away.
