Kevin O'Connor’s latest projection sends a rising Illinois playmaker to Sacramento, capitalizing on a potential draft-night slide and shifting team priorities in the top ten.

Our friends at Yahoo Sports have been updating a full, 60-pick mock draft throughout the pre-draft process, with Kevin O'Connor predicting the Sacramento Kings to land Illinois point guard Keaton Wagler in the latest rendition.

Wagler has become a popular name this week, as his camp has shut down meetings with various teams after pre-draft workouts with the Kings and Los Angeles Clippers.

While Arkansas point guard Darius Acuff Jr. had seemingly separated himself from the rest of the guard prospects in this year's class, O'Connor noted the growing possibility of Wagler being the name called seventh.

"Though Acuff remains the favorite for this choice, the franchise of course is doing its due diligence and Wagler could be available after he was previously expected to be the fifth choice," O'Connor wrote. "There was a bit of shock on social media when I moved Wagler down last week. But inevitably, someone will slip on draft night. And it could be Wagler, since league sources say the Clippers aren’t head over heels in love with him for the fifth pick and Wagler’s group canceled his workout this week with the Nets, who have the sixth pick."

Wagler has had a positive pre-draft process, as he has reportedly shined in workouts and has talked about his goal to put on weight and become multi-positional.

He would instantly become one of the most dynamic playmakers on the Kings' roster, while providing major upside as a scorer thanks to his size.

Following Wagler in O'Connor's mock is UConn's Alex Karaban, who posted an absurd 116-24 record in his four years with the Huskies.

Karaban helped jumpstart UConn's resurgence as a powerhouse program, leading the Huskies to two National Championships and three Final Four appearances.

Following their loss in the National Championship, Karaban and head coach Danny Hurley had an emotional embrace before exiting to the locker room.

In the postgame pressers, Hurley gave Karaban the ultimate compliment.

"This guy changed my life, the staff's lives, the joy he's brought to the university, the fan base," Hurley said. "His decision to come to UConn has made us ... we're probably the premier program in college basketball right now, having been to three out of four national championship games, having won two of them. He's put UConn in that rarefied place in college basketball."

As a knock down 3-point shooter with winning pedigree, the Kings could benefit from his floor spacing and experience.

Rounding out the mocked class is Arizona guard Jaden Bradley, the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year.

While Bradley's averages don't jump off the charts, his impact goes beyond the stat sheet, as the senior guard was the go-to guy for head coach Tommy Lloyd down the stretch of tight games.

Against 5-seeded Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament, Bradley knocked down a difficult baseline jump shot to propel the Wildcats to the championship, where they earned a Big 12 title.

Bradley was named the Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player, scoring 13 points in the Championship victory.

This class would give Sacramento a much-needed boost in playmaking with Wagler, while supplementing the roster with experienced winners at the collegiate level.
