What Role Will Precious Achiuwa Fill For the Kings in 2026?

The Sacramento Kings appear to have a roster that should be able to progress and hopefully take a step forward from 2025 to 2026 with young players who have an opportunity to progress as well as veterans who can continue adding things to their game.

On that note, there is one question that arises for one player in the Sacramento front court. What role will Precious Achiuwa fill for the Kings in 2026?

Throughout Achiuwa's career, he has been a solid player and could be a strong contributor for the Kings in 2026 after being solid in 2025. So, let's take a look at Achiuwa's stats from 2025 and see what he could provide on the floor for Sacramento during the 2026 season.

In 2025, Achiuwa averaged 10.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game. Achiuwa did a decent job when it came to his efficiency from the floor, as he shot 52.8 percent from the field. However, he did struggle from three and the free-throw line, as he shot 27.8 percent from beyond the arc and 55.4 percent from the free-throw line.

So, looking at Achiuwa's stats it seems that he can be a solid presence on the interior, but he does need some improvement when it comes to perimeter as well as his free-throws.

Additionally, it is important to note that Achiuwa played in 73 games and started 57 of those games in 2025, which was mainly due to the Kings struggling with injuries to forward Keegan Murray and center Domantas Sabonis.

With the opportunity that Achiuwa got in 2025, he proved to be a solid player for the Kings and that he can be relied on when his number is called.

Now when it comes to Achiuwa's strengths, on the offensive end he does a great job finishing at the rim and being used in pick and roll situations that enable him to use his athleticism.

Shifting to the defensive side of the floor, standing at 6-8 and 243 pounds, Achiuwa has a great frame that enables him to get in passing lanes, contest shots at the rim, as well as defend nearly every position on the floor with his quickness and athleticism that allow him to switch and his physicality that enables him to match up with bigger players on the interior.

So, heading into the 2026 season, if the Kings do stay healthy, Achiuwa would most likely come off the bench and provide great athleticism and finishing on the offensive side, consistent rebounding on the interior, solid defense on the perimeter, and at the rim, which could ultimately help Sacramento to have one of the better second units in the NBA.
