Bold predictions for the New York Knicks this upcoming season.
If you predicted the New York Knicks to win the 2026 NBA Championship, you went out on a limb and went bold with that call.
The Knicks were +900 to win the title, though those were the fourth-best odds in the league and the second-best in the Eastern Conference.
Still, very few fans thought the Knicks would end up in the Finals, much less win their first championship since 1973. Even before the playoffs, when the Knicks were a three seed in the East, they were given little chance to win the championship.
In honor of going bold, here are three bold predictions for the Knicks in 2026-27.
Jalen Brunson Will Win The MVP
Victor Wembanyama is favored to take home his first MVP award at +200. Two-time and reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is second at +350. Nikola Jokic, who has finished first or second in each of the last six seasons, is third at +600.
Jalen Brunson is way down at ninth in the odds at +3500 with Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, and Cade Cunningham all ahead of him.
A lot would have to go in Brunson’s favor, but the Knicks have the benefit of amazing team chemistry in a conference where other teams made big changes to keep pace with the champions.
If the Knicks get the first seed, have a better record than the Spurs or Thunder, and Brunson can average 29 points and seven assists to go along with his clutch scoring, he will at least put himself in the conversation.

Depending on which sportsbook you’re looking at or which talking head you’re listening to, the Knicks aren’t even favored to win the East, with the new-look Philadelphia 76ers garnering much of the attention.
Not only will the Knicks win the East, but they will also win it by five or more games. Many teams in the East improved, but the Knicks are the champions for a reason, and they have the same core returning.
This is a battle-tested team that won’t get too high or low during the year. That consistency will lead to 58+ wins.
OG Anunoby Makes All-NBA Team
Anunoby has made second-team All-Defense twice in his career, including last season, but this year he makes the third-team All-NBA.
Everyone will point to Karl-Anthony Towns as the second option on the team, and while that is true, Anunoby is poised for a bigger breakout role coming off the Finals. Towns will continue to get his, but looks for Anunoby to step up while Towns becomes more of a facilitator.
