How to Watch Nets at Suns, Plus Betting Preview cover image

Can the Nets snap their losing skid? They head to the Valley of the Desert to take on Phoenix.

The Brooklyn Nets close out January in the west -- and can put an end to a rather forgettable month.

Talks of NBA Draft Lottery Picks and landing the top overall selection continue to intensify. Now they face a Phoenix Suns team that beat them eight days ago.

The YES Network will air the action at 6 p.m. Fans can also pivot to NBA League Pass if they don't have access to YES.

Here's Fernie Ruano with the betting preview:

Hey, ladies:

Yon can forget about sending love letters and wanting to hangout on Valentine's Day weekend with Brooklyn Nets rookie guard Egor Demin, who will busy participating in the NBA's 'Rising Stars' event -- sponsored by a popular motor oil brand. by the way -- on Friday, February13 in Los Angeles, California.

Demin, drafted by the Nets with the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft out of Brigham Young University,  has made 32 starts this season, averaging 10.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 24.6 minutes while shooting 39.9 % from the floor and 39,6% from three-point range.

Unfortunately, even Demin, 3-of-11 shooting in Brooklyn's  most recent debacle, a 126-89 road loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night, can't put a hold on the Nets (12-32, 13th in the Eastern Conference) rise to the top of the draft lottery charts these days as only the Washington Wizards (10-34, .227), Indiana Pacers (11-36, .234), New Orleans Pelicans () and Sacramento Kings (12-35, .255) currently have worst overall records.

And the road just might lead to more tanking as the underdog Nets (+8.5, -110), looking to end a five-game losing streak in the second contest of a five-game road trip that will take them through the end of January, visit the Phoenix Suns (27-19) for a 9:00 p.m. (ET) tipoff on Tuesday night in PHX Arena.

The Nets,  +275 on the moneyline, are 1-9 in their last 10 games and 4-6 against the spread. The over/under is 211.5 points, as per DraftKings Sportsbook.

Brooklyn, playing its third game in five days tonight, was no match for the Clippers, who ran out to a 38-14 first quarter advantage on the Nets, who shoot 20% through the first 12 minutes of action.

The Nets, without Noah Clowney (back soreness), Cam Thomas (ankle sprain) and Nolan Thaore (illness), fell behind 47-14 early in the second quarter before a timeout by Brooklyn head coach Jordi Fernandez, who continues to laud the reeling Nets for their overall effort during games, including for 'winning' the third quarter vs. the Clippers. Phoenix (-8.5, -110), coming off a 111-102 home loss to the Miami Heat on Sunday night, is -335 on the moneyline vs. the Nets.

But the Suns, 6-4 overall and against the spread in their last 10 games, could not find enough offense, especially without star guard Devin Booker (ankle sprain), to put away the Heat as Grayson Allen (1-for-11) and Royce O’Neale (0-for-7) were a combined 1-for-18 from three-point range. Dillon Brooks, averaging 20.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists for the Suns, had a team-high 26 points vs. Miami.

The Suns, 14-5-1 against the spread at home, are 14-4-1 against the spread when scoring more than 115.1 points. Brooklyn is 20-21-3 against the spread this season. Oddly, the Nets are 15-2 against the spread and 11-6 straight up when they score more than 111.8 points in a game. Nets forward Michael Porter Jr., also likely on his way to the All-Star Game festivities amid swirling trade speculation, is averaging 24.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Porter Jr., of value to any NBA team — ready to pony up a whole lot, by the way — looking for a physical big-man who can shot and defend the wing, is shooting 47.7% from the floor and 38.9 % from three-point range, which includes 3.7 makes per contest.

Nic Claxton, playing through an injury to pinky on his right hand. is averaging 12.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. The Nets Noah Clowney (back soreness) is out, while Tyrese Martin (left knee soreness) is questionable. Cam Thomas (left knee sprain) and Nolan Traore (illness) are probable. Booker, averaging 25.4 points,  6.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game, will be reevaluated on Sunday.

Jalen Green (right hamstring injury management), who sat out vs. the Heat, is questionable tonight. Phoenix is 1-4 without Booker this season.

Nets vs. Suns betting analysis:

Tricky betting line with the Nets going really bad and the Suns coming off a home loss. Its also difficult to zone in on any particular betting action on the Nets, who have made it a habit recently of adding players -- at the last possible minute -- to their injury report.
