Spurs vs. Kings GAMEDAY: Betting Lines, Injuries, and How to Watch
Nov 6, 2026 3:23 PM

The San Antonio Spurs will take on the Sacramento Kings for the second time this season on Friday night in their first NBA Cup game. The Spurs are riding a six-game winning streak, and the Kings are looking for their second win of the season.

The San Antonio Spurs will kick off their NBA Cup play on Friday night against the Sacramento Kings. Last season, the Spurs made it all the way to the Cup championship, where they lost to the New York Knicks.

This season, the Spurs are in West Group C, which doesn't seem that daunting. The Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers are the biggest threats to San Antonio, with the Golden State Warriors and the Kings lagging behind.

"I think the Cup will be good, it was great last year," expressed Keldon Johnson. "As a team, we're looking forward to that this year. I think everybody's on the same page and locked into that."

The Spurs beat the Kings by 27 points in their last matchup. They're coming off a close win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday and are expected to be a bit fatigued, but are heavy favorites against Sacramento.

After a historic 52 points, 24 rebounds, and eight blocks in the Spurs' last game, Victor Wembanyama is expected to take a bit of a back seat tonight.

November is grueling for San Antonio, with no two rest days in a row for the entire month. It wouldn't be unpopular for Mitch Johnson to hold him out tonight. Instead, he could give Luke Kornet and Tarris Reed equal playing time and let them both make their case to be the backup.

Kornet has gotten off to a slow start to the season, and Reed has shown flashes of excellence in his 20 total minutes this season. Against a subpar opponent, the Spurs can afford to tinker.
