The Warriors' front office and Steve Kerr both reportedly want changes in a potential return.

The Golden State Warriors continue to inch their way towards a decision with Steve Kerr regarding his future as head coach.

After 12 years and four championships, Kerr's situation is somewhat uncharted, considering his main players are still on the team in Steph Curry and Draymond Green, yet the recent lack of success relative to the Warriors' dynasty expectations still puts him on the hot seat.

There's now been a multitude of reports from all angles about Kerr's upcoming decision, and until the two sides officially come to a conclusion, that's not likely to slow down any time soon.

Both Sides Want To See Changes In A Potential Return

This past Wednesday, NBC Sports' Warriors Insider Monte Poole reported some new information about both Kerr and the Warriors' front office ideologies heading into the upcoming discussion.

If Kerr is to return as head coach, then both sides have reportedly laid out some changes they want to see or other aspects that may play into a decision.

For Kerr, Poole reported that roster construction and the front office's offseason plans are "factors that will determine Kerr's decision," in addition to "some form of compromise on his willingness to address sociopolitical issues that are dear to his heart."

For owner Joe Lacob and general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr., leading the front office, they're reportedly looking to see from Kerr a "readiness to embrace greater flexibility with coaching schemes, particularly as they relate to the team's younger players, while also demanding more accountability from all players, including (Steph) Curry and (Draymond) Green."

There has been much talk over the past couple of seasons about Kerr's treatment of younger players, especially with Jonathan Kuminga, so that part isn't necessarily a big surprise, but the latter is interesting, considering Kerr's philosophy in that department has indeed allowed Green, in particular, to be a bit of a wild card, but also did not hinder them at all in their championship runs.

Money Is Not A Concern For Either Side

One thing that is certain from both sides is that money will not be a major player.

Poole said that "Whether Kerr returns will not be decided by the size of the contract that might come his way. This is not, per sources, a play for more money."

Considering how much Kerr has already made in his career and how much money the Warriors bring in on a yearly basis, it makes sense that this doesn't play a factor.

The two sides are reported to meet again sometime this week. A decision with these frameworks may be on its way sooner rather than later.
