Brandin Podziemski could be in for a big pay day soon.
The Golden State Warriors may be one of the older teams in the league, but that doesn't mean that they don't have some young stars to hold down the future of the franchise, and Brandin Podziemski is definitely one of those young cornerstones.
Podziemski has steadily improved in each of the three seasons that he's played in the NBA, averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game last season while playing all 82 games, an underrated quality in a league that's increasingly beset by impact players missing significant amounts of time.
Looking ahead to the future of the Warriors, especially a future that goes beyond the careers of franchise stars Steph Curry and Draymond Green, Podziemski's role with the team will only continue to grow and the Warriors will need to take measure to secure Podziemski's future with the team.
The Future of Golden State

According to a report from Brett Siegel, the Warriors are expecting to offer Podziemski a contract extension worth anywhere between $22-24 million annually, though the number of years that Podziemski could be eligible for isn't known just yet.
That pay range would be a major increase for Podziemski, who has made an average of $4 million per year in his initial four-year contract. Being offered an extension that's over five times what he was initially making a significant endorsement of the Warriors' opinion of their young guard and also says a lot about the pressure that Golden State is feeling to hold on to the few reliable young players that the franchise does have rostered.

Building Around Podziemski
Golden State is heading in the direction of a rebuild in the near future if not now, and a critical aspect of a rebuild is retaining the existing young talent on a team and continuing to build around it.

No deal has been signed as of yet, but if Siegel's report is to be believed, Podziemski will be looking at a big pay day sometime soon.
