The Washington Wizards are back for game four of a five-game homestand with the Sacramento Kings headed to the nation's capital for the second and final matchup of the season. Sunday also features a pair of 12-win teams with the tankathon in full effect inside Capital One Arena on Sunday evening.

Washington fell, 128-115, against Sacramento back on Jan. 16 on the road after comeback efforts in the second half fell short with nine assists from Bub Carrington leading the way.

The Wizards will remain short-handed for Sunday evening with Tre Johnson now joining Tristan Vukcevic, Cam Whitmore and Trae Young as inactive. This marks the second consecutive missed game for Johnson, who suffered the injury in the second quarter of Thursday's win against Milwaukee after landing on the foot of forward Ryan Rollins following a shot attempt before being ruled out for the remainder of the game. Head coach Brian Keefe has not provided an update on the severity of the injury.

The lone inactive for Sacramento remains Keegan Murray, who has remained sidelined since Jan. 4 due to a left ankle sprain. Malik Monk and Russell Westbrook, who played one season with the Wizards, remain questionable ahead of tipoff due a right heel contusion for Monk and right foot contusion for Westbrook.

Washington is coming off a humbling performance on Friday night after Luka Doncic took over The District, notching a triple-double by halftime as the Los Angeles Lakers led by as many as 38 points in the second half before handing the Wizards a 142-111 loss.

Malaki Branham finished with a season-high 17 points behind four made threes while Will Riley added 13 off three made threes to serve as highlights in the loss. Kyshawn George, meanwhile, notched a block against LeBron James in the opening minutes of the game, but it marked a night when the Wizards were simply overmatched by the Lakers' star power.

“Start better” head coach Brian Keefe said following the loss. “We only lost the second half by two. They obviously came out and made some tough shots, but we didn’t have our (style) what we’ve been doing a lot lately, with the force and physicality, to make people miss shots.”

As for the Kings, they have yet to pick up a win since the first matchup against Washington. The Kings enter Sunday's game looking to snap an eight-game losing streak including a pair of losses by five points or loss. But like Washington, Sacramento is also coming off a humbling loss on Friday night after the Boston Celtics handed the Kings a 29-point loss inside The Garden.

Sunday also marks a notable matchup in the 2025-26 tankathon standings with the two teams tied for the fewest wins in the NBA. Sacramento's three additional losses gives them the current edge given the worse win percentage, though the two teams join New Orleans with the highest odds for the top overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft with the Wizards, Kings and Pelicans all drawing a 14% chance of landing the top overall pick, per Tankathon.
