The Washington Wizards have finalized the Exhibit 10 signing of undrafted rookie and former Auburn and Mississippi State forward, KeShawn Murphy
One day after inking a former NBA guard to an Exhibit 10 deal just weeks before the start of preseason, the Washington Wizards made another longtime expected roster move official on Friday ahead of the start of preseason.
The team announced that former Auburn forward KeShawn Murphy has officially signed an Exhibit 10 deal, months after news broke that the SEC product would begin his NBA career with the Wizards organization. Murphy's signing was announced one day after news surfaced that former Miami Heat and New York Knicks two-way guard Trevor Keels was joining the organization following a trade involving three G League teams.
Murphy and Keels now join Alondes Williams as the three Exhibit 10 signings by the organization with just one two way spot left for the front office to fill ahead of the start of the regular season. Washington also has one spot left to fill along the training camp roster.
Murphy, a 6-foot-10, 230 pound forward, was able to work out for general manager Will Dawkins prior to the 2026 NBA Draft at the Portsmouth Invitational, giving the fifth year forward a chance to impress once more before materializing into an undrafted rookie free agent.
Murphy began his college career at Mississippi State where he redshirted, then blossomed into a rotational player for the Bulldogs over the next three seasons where he appeared in 74 games yet started in only three. After seeing his minutes nearly double in his third year playing at Mississippi State, Murphy saw his production skyrocket after averaging 11.7 points and 7.4 rebounds while improving his field goal shooting by over ten percent. He also shot at least 56% from the field in nearly 29 minutes per game in each of his final two seasons in college basketball.
The news also came days after the Wizards after re-signing veteran forward Anthony Gill for a seventh season with the organization, filling the 15th and final roster spot after months of debate and patience surrounding what direction the front office would turn to.
With the preseason set to begin with a road game on Oct. 8 against the New York Knicks followed by the regular season opener on Oct. 21 against the Milwaukee Bucks inside Capital One Arena, general manager Will Dawkins is set to host his preseason press conference next Thursday, Sept. 24 as the Wizards inch closer toward kicking off the 2026-27 slate.
