The latest Cederian Morgan update isn't exactly great news for several Alabama Crimson Tide wide receivers.
The Alabama Crimson Tide are absolutely loaded at wide receiver entering 2026, and they could boast one of the best groups in the country at the position.
We know that Ryan Coleman-Williams and Lotzeir Brooks are the top two receivers on the depth chart. Coleman-Williams is viewed by many as a potential first-round pick next spring, and Brooks was very impressive during his freshman campaign last season.
But that is far from the end of for Alabama's receiving corps.
Derek Meadows, a 6-foot-5 sophomore, is a tantalizing talent. Rico Scott is a burner. Transfer Tyler Henderson is a major sleeper. And then, there's four-star freshman Cederian Morgan, who is already generating considerable buzz.
In fact, Brooks recently sang Morgan's praises, saying that the youngster can "catch the ball better" than anyone he has ever seen and that Morgan is "definitely going to play."
That's great news for Morgan and for whoever is playing quarterback for the Crimson Tide this fall, whether that's Austin Mack or Keelon Russell.

In the case of Meadows, Scott and Henderson, potential is the name of the game. None of them have really proven anything in Tuscaloosa just yet, so it's not like they have much more experience under their belts than Morgan.
And if Morgan (who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 223 pounds, by the way), is really looking that good in fall camp, he may have a very sizeable chance of becoming Alabama's No. 3 receiver.
You would think the No. 3 role would go to Meadows based on the hype (Meadows is a former four-star recruit himself) and his rare size. But the Las Vegas product didn't log a single catch during his freshman season, and it's not like Morgan doesn't claim elite size for the position himself.
Brooks seems positive that Morgan will be earning significant playing time this year. I'm sure that isn't just coming from his own personal opinion. Head coach Kalen DeBoer likely feels the same way.
We knew going into 2026 that someone in Alabama's wide receiver room wasn't going to be very happy, but now, it's becoming evident that Morgan's presence could cause problems for several pass-catcher.
