Top Duke Basketball Recruiting Target Sets Official Visit

As the countdown to the 2026-27 college basketball season begins, the excitement is high for the Duke Blue Devils. With Jon Scheyer and his staff building a new roster, this should be a team that competes for a national championship.

Part of that roster will include the top overall recruiting class for the 2026 cycle.

While the focus will be on the court this coming Fall, future recruiting classes are still important. For Duke, they have one commit in the 2027 class as Kager Knueppel committed to the program over the Summer. Duke is expected to take a smaller recruiting class for 2027, so we can expect just another commit or two, barring anything surprising.

But the 2028 class could be another big one for the Blue Devils.

One target for the Blue Devils is five-star small forward Colton Hiller. The Coatesville, Pennsylvania, native is one of the top overall players in the 2028 class and now, he's setting some official visits for the Fall.

The latest? Duke.

Hiller will be on Duke's campus beginning on October 5th for his official visit. It will come one month after he is on Florida's campus for a visit this weekend. Those are the two known visits for Hiller at the moment.

These two visits should give us a little taste of what to expect in this recruiting battle. It's been rumored that Duke is the favorite to land Hiller in his recruitment but the Gators are making a push and have a connection. His brother plays on the Florida football team and the chance to go to the same school is an interesting option.

Hiller has 26 total offers in his recruitment but as mentioned above, this appears to be a battle between the Blue Devils and Gators. With Hiller being in the 2028 class, there's a long way to go in terms of his recruitment still. But it's one worth paying attention to moving forward.

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound Hiller is ranked No. 2 nationally, the No. 1 small forward, and No. 1 player in the state of Pennsylvania per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
