The Seminoles now need guard help after Martin Somerville became a one-and-done. Here's why the South Florida star fits.

Florida State basketball is undergoing roster movement before the NCAA transfer portal opens in six days.

But here's why a nearby star looks perfect for the Seminoles: Wes Enis, who just left South Florida.

Enid = High-Energy Scoring

USF watched the 6-foot-2 guard score at will on the floor, averaging 21.5 points per game.

He delivered a knack of creating his own shots for the Bulls, hence why he hit that PPG mark.

Enis looks comfortable firing the basketball right away once he's got the open look. But the smaller guard shows no hesitancy in attacking the lane, even if he has to put up an awkward layup or contested two-point attempt.

USF trusted Enis right away in his jump from the NCAA Division II ranks to D-I.

Enis easily could've became one of the big stars of March Madness 2026 had the Bulls made a deep run.

But he proved the leap to the American Athletic Conference was well worth it. Enis showed he was more than capable to handle the higher playing field.

Hence why he's ready for one more jump -- to the Power-4 realm. And that's where FSU comes into the picture.

Florida State Needs Scoring Guard

First, coach Luke Loucks leaned into a deep senior class to lead his first Seminoles team.

Now he must replace lots of point production. The likes of Lajae Jones, Chauncey Wiggins, Robert McCray V and others are all exiting Tallahassee.

Somerville is a key transfer hit, though, as he was eligible return next season. But he's re-testing the transfer portal waters for this offseason period.

Loucks' system bodes perfectly for a guard like Enis.

How Enis Fits at FSU

Loucks installed an NBA approach for the Noles.

His scheme called for efficiency and more floor spacing. The latter part is built for shooters like Enis, as Loucks creates screens with his frontcourt to free up the long-range shooting options.

Enis can definitely ignite this system that Loucks is creating for FSU. The head coach and former Seminole is also aiming to deliver a rapid-fire transition attack -- another reason why Enis fits in Tallahassee.

The Bulls star will be highly coveted in the portal off his latest credentials, including the March Madness run. But he'd become a massive portal coup if FSU keeps him from drifting away from the Sunshine State. Enis can become the missing ingredient that sends the Noles back to the field of 68 for next March.
