The Seminoles secured one more transfer portal win on Sunday. Here's how the now former Buffaloes post presents fits in Tallahassee.

Florida State added a new layer to the 2026-27 basketball roster Sunday via Colorado. This one adding to the frontcourt.

Sebastian Rancik heads to Tallahassee in becoming a new transfer portal addition for the Seminoles. Rancik brings a "stretch forward" element to the Noles.

How can he fit inside the FSU basketball facility and head coach Luke Loucks' scheme? Time to break it all down.

Towering Experience

Loucks gains a 6-foot-11 presence here.

But Rancik brings more that needed height. He's a seasoned veteran.

The now former Buffaloes forward played in 29 games featuring 26 starts this past season. He's coming over after averaging 12.3 points per game with 5.5 rebounds.

He also started in 11 games as a freshman...all while playing in arguably the toughest basketball conference in the nation the Big 12.

'Power' Forward

Rancik doesn't mind contact down low.

Despite his 220-pound frame, he can muscle past defenders to get his shot attempt up in the paint.

Rancik did get away with having the height advantage against most forwards. But he's one to absorb contact and still finish the shot off.

Distributor Down Low

This element will win over Loucks and Rancik's future FSU teammates.

He shows strong vision in passing the ball underneath the hoop. This makes him an effective option in the fast break or on pick-and-roll plays.

He can even execute passes with his non-dominant hand the left, even when sandwiched between two defenders.

Rim Protector

Loucks lands one of the best remaining rim protectors available via the College Basketball Transfer Portal.

Rancik produced four different games of hitting two blocks. Even against nationally-ranked Texas Tech during the Feb. 11 game despite the lopsided loss.

Rancik knows when to time his jumps and extend out his right hand (most of his blocks came from that hand).

FSU lacked a consistent big who can protect the rim. Guard Lajae Jones led the team in swats at 1.0 per game. Rancik fills this need greatly.

So How Does Starting 5 Look?

It's not too early to think about next season's starting five. Especially with the multiple transfer wins on the side of FSU.

Anthony Robinson II of Missouri is an early favorite now for point guard duties after coming over before Rancik. UNC Asheville transfer Kameron Taylor joins him in the backcourt after averaging 18.9 PPG in the Big South.

Thomas Bassong moves to starter after FSU retained him. Though he can deadlocked in a battle for starter with Cincinnati transfer Shon Abaev. One will occupy small forward next to Rancik.

Center is up for grabs from what it appears. However, Loucks can play prized recruiting win Marcis Ponder here...forming a 6-foot-11 duo with Rancik.
