Florida State cranked the volume up in the transfer portal and reeled in quite the class. Leaving many wondering what the starting five could look like.

Florida State men's basketball turned up their transfer portal efforts before April 21.

The Seminoles did more than bring back a past Tallahassee talent, but the brother of Anthony Robinson II too. And FSU landed another past in-state star in Shon Abaev.

Will these new additions comprise the starting five? Here's a way-too-early look at what FSU in 2026-27 could look like position by position:

Point Guard: Anthony Robinson II

He once starred in the shadow of FSU before heading off to Missouri in the Southeastern Conference.

Now Robinson returns to spark a needed position for head coach Luke Loucks and his staff.

Loucks will love his on-ball defensive skills, especially when facing future Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. He brings an All-SEC Defensive Team past over to FSU. But he's equipped with enough experience to lead this offense.

Shooting Guard: Kameron Taylor

While Robinson and younger brother Amare galvanize the locals in Tallahassee by coming home, Taylor rises as arguably the top transfer addition, coming in from UNC Asheville.

Scoring 18.9 points per game last season, the rising sophomore creates shots off the bounce and attacks the rim with fury.

Taylor presents a scoring versatility FSU lacked last season. He'll ignite fans with his thunderous dunks, too.

Power Forward: Sebastian Rancik, Colorado Transfer

Loucks needs someone who can handle the dirty work down low.

Colorado transfer Sebastian Rancik looks like the perfect guy for that role. Except he also can dial in from long range.

He averaged 12.3 points per game playing in the toughest college basketball conference. Rancik brings an ability to stretch defenses out from his forward spot.

But he also can pass down low and protect the rim at a high level.

Small Forward: Thomas Bassong

Bassong brings experience back to the floor for this roster. He'll know what Loucks' expectations are.

It took some reconvincing, though, to lure him back in.

Bassong opted to pass on entering into the portal amid the roster attrition. He hands FSU some rebounding grit that should pair well with Rancik.

Forward: Shon Abaev

This came down to Abaev and center Marcis Ponder.

Ponder brings intrigue as a high-profile recruit. But Cincinnati transfer Abaev is way too talented to ignore on the floor.

He's a former McDonald's All-American who loves to attack with the ball in hand. Loucks will love his knack for penetrating the lane. Plus starting Abaev prevents installing immediate pressure for Ponder to adjust right away to the CBB game.
