The state of Illinois' top prospect took in Tallahassee and fell in love with the Seminoles for these reasons.

Florida State football is starting to appeal to a couple of high-profile 2027 quarterbacks. The latest is the state of Illinois' top QB and overall prospect.

Fresh off winning over the No. 2 overall QB in the nation Israel Abrams, FSU also hosted the top-ranked talent from the same state Jake Nawrot.

The top 100 QB from John Hersey High in Arlington Heights, Ill., raved about his Tallahassee trip with Tom Loy of 247Sports Friday

"We went through all the facilities and toured the campus and talked with all the coaches throughout the day," said Nawrot to Loy. "The trip was amazing, and all the coaches were amazing. The program and its intent caught my eye and really impressed me."

He especially got the chance to interact with head coach Mike Norvell.

"Coach Norvell was amazing," said Nawrot. "I loved his energy and passion for football, and you can tell he loves his players. They were very high on me, and I was honored to visit. My family and I were very impressed, and I appreciated the whole staff."

He also added how Austin Tucker impressed him and he "loved talking ball with him, and had a great time talking to Coach (Tim) Harris also."

The latter coach specializes in wide receivers but was elevated to offensive coordinator once Gus Malzahn retired.

Nawrot holds 20 offers at the moment and is "warm" on Kentucky, which is transitioning to Will Stein as head coach. But this FSU trip now presents new momentum on the side of the Noles.

Andrew Ivins of 247Sports is one who likes what he's seen from the big-armed QB.

"Big and athletic one-year starter with a high-powered arm and excellent football character. Can get the ball accurately to all three levels and will take advantage of coverage lapses while working off play-action in a pro-style attack," Ivins said in his prospect evaluation. "Likes to fire from a sturdy base, but will slide away from pressure and make accurate tosses on the move with his balance and coordination."

Ivins adds how he likes Nawrot's toughness in the pocket.

"Willing to eat contact in a compromised pocket to make a throw. Not one to take many risks (just 2 interceptions as a junior) and displays the confidence to challenge tight windows over the middle with his situational awareness," Ivins said.

Nawrot completed 71% of his passes, 3,078 passing yards, and 41 touchdown passes.
