The Georgia Bulldogs have secured a pledge from one of their top prospects.

The Georgia Bulldogs are in their bye week, which means that Kirby Smart is tuning things up with this team following a shocking loss and trying to get things back on track ahead of the stretch run in the SEC.

Those improvements do not just come with the current team though, and the bye week is an excellent time to shore things up for the future of the program as well. One of the best recruiters in the nation, Smart is going to be out for blood in the 2028 class after a slow spring and summer for the 2027 class.

Already off to a great start, the Dawgs were able to make another significant move in the class of 2028 by securing a commitment from one of their top targets, and it's a major addition to the trenches for the program in four-star offensive tackle Koehn Dial.

Georgia Building Trenches, Lands Koehn Dial to 2028 Class

The pursuit from the Dawgs of Dial has really ramped up over the past couple of months, and while some elite programs like the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oklahoma Sooners were also after him, Georgia ultimately won out for the Franklin, Tennessee native.

"I’ve been thinking about it for about two months now," Dial told Rivals of his decision to commit to Georgia coming off a visit this past weekend. "They’ve always been consistent with me, kept it up front, and I just decided to seal the deal."

Rated as a top-200 player in the nation, Dial has actually been on the radar of Kirby Smart for a very long time. He has held an offer from Georgia since all the way back in eighth grade when he attended a camp in Athens, and he has progressed enough as a player since then that he has become one of the more sought after players in high school football.

What Kind of Skillset Dial Will Bring to Bulldogs

The first thing that stands out about Dial is his absolutely massive size, standing at 6-foot-8 and weighing a hair under 300 pounds. He will obviously have work to do in the weight room when he arrives on campus, but this kind of frame is not something you can teach and should give Georgia a player to mold.

247 rates dial as a top-20 tackle in the nation and top-10 player in the state of Tennessee,  and given he has been a very productive football player for a very strong Battle Ground Academy program.

Dial may not be an immediate plug and play, but if he can come to Georgia and buy in, this will absolutely be a future starting tackle on this offensive line at some point during his career.
