The Georgia Bulldogs have another big name coming.
The Georgia Bulldogs have been busy despite not seeing the field this weekend. While this year's team was enjoying some time off and a bye week to rest up ahead of the stretch run, there was no time off for the coaching staff and recruiting department.
Kirby Smart and the staff hauled in another significant commitment over the weekend for the class of 2027 coming off a rough run in the spring and summer with multiple names they were going after. Ahead of signing day this winter though, the fortunes have started to turn, and Battle Ground Academy quarterback Bo Bryan has just become the latest to commit to the Dawgs.
The Franklin, Tennessee three-star prospect is the second quarterback for Georgia in the 2027 class, joining Metairie, Louisiana's Colton Nussmeier as the two gunslingers to commit to the Dawgs in the 2027 cycle.
Bryan, the son of country star Luke Bryan, said there was no other choice once he finally got the offer from his dream school.
Bryan Says He Had to Commit to Georgia Once He Got Offered
"As soon as I got the call, I knew," Bryan told Rivals on his first thoughts on getting the offer from his childhood team. "I knew that I was ready to do it. I literally committed on the phone with Coach Bobo. It was literally a dream come true."
Bryan clearly has a whole lot of love for the Bulldogs, which in today's day and age of recruiting, having a guy that clearly wants to be here and develop is a huge first step towards becoming the kind of player Georgia wants in the program.
At the end of the day, this is certainly a multi-year project to get Bryan to a point where he is able to actually compete to be the starter in Athens, but if he can come in, buy into the process, keep his head down and get better, he will absolutely have his shot at some point down the line.
Clearly, the Dawgs have seen enough to like Bryan as a developmental guy who could battle to be the starter eventually, and now with two quality quarterbacks in the 2027 class, the future of the position is in great hands for Georgia.
Over the next couple of years, Bryan is going to be watched very closely by fans who hope to see him take those next steps, and it would not be a huge shock to see him be the starting quarterback for the Bulldogs one day in the future.
