The Georgia Bulldogs are enjoying some time off this week following what was undeniably a dreadful loss at home to the Auburn Tigers, the first time it has happened at Sanford Stadium in over 20 years.

As frustrating and frankly infuriating as that fact is, Kirby Smart always talks about the fact that humility in the SEC is always just one week away. Coming off the emotional and physical win on the road at Alabama, this certainly proved to be the case in Athens last weekend.

With the Florida Gators -- another massive rivalry game -- up next week, the bye actually came at a perfect time for the Dawgs, and they are going to try to take advantage of that fact. One thing they must improve on if they are going to get right back on track and accomplish their goals was perhaps the biggest issue from last week: the operation on offense.

While the start was strong and jumping out to a 14-0 lead is almost always going to be enough for a team like Georgia, that was not the case this week. Much of that is due to the fact that things got sloppy and the Dawgs found a way to turn the ball over three times to let the Tigers right back into it and ultimately, hand them the game.

This is not winning football, and it's not the way Georgia can afford to play if it wants to beat Florida let alone win the SEC and make a deep run in the College Football Playoff. Things just looked a little bit off for the Dawgs, and while this of course starts with Gunner Stockton, everyone around him is going to have to raise their personal level of play as well.

Championship teams take care of the football, and while the Dawgs have been fairly outstanding at that this year, the consequences of the alternative were on full display in the worst home loss in over a decade for this team. Georgia needs to get things cleaned up and find a way to put the football in better spots, because if they do not, this will not be the only loss they suffer this season.

If fans know anything about Kirby Smart and this staff though, they are working hard this week to get things fixed and unleash absolute fury on Florida next weekend.
