The Georgia Bulldogs may not have much of a shot at landing this trio of wide receivers.
The Georgia Bulldogs are focused on the season and winning as many games as possible to try to make a run at a third straight SEC title and potential deep College Football Playoff run.
With that being said, the reality of college football is coaching staffs having to put equal time into landing the next generation as well, and coming off a summer which was not great on the recruiting trail for the Dawgs, pressure is high. While the 2028 class if off to a strong start, there is still time before the 2027 class signs, and Georgia is still trying to wrangle a few more commitments.
One area where they struggled in particular was wide receiver, landing just two so far in Jamir Dean and Taurean Rawlins. Three more they have been pursuing -- East Carolina commit Zalen Green, West Virginia commit Jacobi Pasley and uncommitted prospect Maleek Miller -- have apparently not seen much movement towards Georgia in the last several months according to a report from Jed May of UGA Sports.
Georgia Not Any Closer to Landing Green, Pasley or Miller According to Report
"Nothing much has materialized with any of these three prospects," May wrote. "If any return for either of Georgia’s final two home games, it would signal some serious wheels in motion. But barring that, it doesn’t seem likely any of the three will be in the class."
At the end of the day, the Dawgs will be okay with their class that is still ranked in the top-10 across the country, however they would love to add a couple more players, and it looks questionable whether or not they are actually going to be able to do that.
Wide receiver depth is always great, but Kirby Smart has always been willing to supplement from the portal at this position and has had some legitimate success there. If Georgia is thin at the position in this cycle, that will just increase the urgency to go out and land a difference maker via transfer.
It's not cause for concern at this time and the Bulldogs have always been able to get by whether they brought in great high school wide receivers or not, but it's safe to say folks would love to see Georgia be able to land one or two more playmakers for the class of 2027.
As signing day gets closer and closer, it will not be much longer before fans find out if the Bulldogs are able to make that happen, or if they must pivot once again.
